Narine smashed 54 runs off 17 balls to bring KKR home
Kolkata Knight Riders opening batsman Sunil Narine brought up his maiden T20 fifty in just 15 balls to equal his fellow teammate Yusuf Pathan’s record for the fastest IPL fifty.
Chasing the target of 159 runs to win, Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn gave KKR a blistering start of 105 runs in just six overs, where they broke the record for most runs in the Powerplay.
Narine blasted 54 runs (6×4, 4×6) off 17 balls and quickly departed after the Powerplay. During his innings of his lifetime he smashed the RCB bowlers to boundaries, especially his fellow countrymen Samuel Badree where Narine smashed him for three consecutive sixes in the fourth over.
Chris Lynn also scored a fifty off 22 balls and soon gave his wicket to Negi. Colin de Grandhomme and Gambhir scored 31 and 14 runs respectively to continue the chase. Finally Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan brought their team to a six wicket victory in 15.1 overs and also sealed their place in the playoffs.
